Privacy policy

Your data, treated like it matters

We keep the privacy policy short enough to actually read. Here’s what we store, why we store it and the choices you keep.

Last updated: October 30, 2026

1. What we collect

When you create an account we store the information you provide: name, email and password (hashed). If you later add applicant details for a trademark filing, those are stored as part of that workflow.

When a QR code is scanned, we record the scan event, the device type, operating system, browser and an approximate location derived from the scanner’s IP address. On product verification pages, a visitor can optionally allow precise location; that is only ever collected with explicit permission.

2. How we use it

  • To run your account and render your QR codes, analytics and verification pages.
  • To show scan statistics in your dashboard and export them as CSV at your request.
  • To allow visitors to verify a product and, when they choose, report suspected counterfeit products.

3. Analytics and measurement

Scan analytics belong to your account. Approximate location is the default because it is usually all that’s needed. We do not sell or rent scan data to third parties.

4. Cookies and storage

We use cookies and local storage where needed to keep you signed in and to keep the dashboard usable. You can clear them in your browser at any time; some features may reset.

5. Sharing

We do not share personal data with third parties except where required by law or where a service provider helps us operate the platform (for example hosting). Those providers only process data on our instructions.

6. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Scan events are retained to keep analytics useful; you can request deletion of your account and its data at any time.

7. Your rights

  • Access a copy of the data we hold.
  • Correct or update your details.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.

To make any of these requests, email info@truesealing.com.

8. Security

We use secure transport, hashed credentials and access controls appropriate to the data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9. Children

The platform is not directed at children under the age of consent in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we’ll update the date above and, where practical, let you know within the platform or by email.
